A whole week has gone by and so much has happened. As you know our house sold. We quickly ran off to Cornwall (where we are moving to) and found another house and bought it. Had the home inspection the next day. Came home to find one of our cat's ill and have spent every day (and night) since at the Vets. Saturday night we were literally all night at the emergency vet hospital. Costing us a mint. But I think now he has renal failure and will have to be put down. It's breaking my heart. Although Mandy is 12 years old. He is not suffering as yet and I hope to keep it that way. Now I know why the kitten showed up last month. She is Mandy's replacement.
Timing is everything as they say and had this happened before the house sold, I never would have been able to cope. Funny how things fall into place.
Anyway we found our dream home, it has everything we wanted and I mean everything. It is in move in condition and most of all it was empty which is enabling us to move in so soon. We did not want to be moving such a long distance once winter approaches. Since we are moving further north they have real winter in that part of Ontario and not pretend winter like we have in Southern Ontario. We don't get snow here until January (usually) and I have lamented many atime for not having a white xmas. I'm sure it will be white this year.
I will have a wonderful huge basement for Dolton. And it is big enough (300 sq feet more than here) that I can house all the Doltonites together. No more Dolton Heights. And I have a bedroom upstairs (ground floor - it's a bungalow) where I will have a gallery for my cabinet dolls. I can't believe how fortunate we were to have found this place. It was 6th on list out of 9 houses to view. We only looked at 7 because one got sold and the other one we just weren't interested in. Again we are in an older established neighbourhood and I can walk to the grocery store and bank etc. just like I can here. It's maybe a couple of blocks farther but will be good for me.
So between running to the bank, taking the cat to the vet and just running around in general as you can imagine I have been quite busy.
Still.....I have found the time to buy a few more dolls. Victoria (from Twilight) arrived this week and James (also from Twilight) will be arriving next week. I will buy the Barbie sized versions of Victoria and Alice Cullen. Too bad Mattel isn't making James and Laurent! For sure they would move to Dolton LOL
So I'm off to run more errands and maybe I will find time to buy a few groceries. We have been eating out so much I forget how to cook LOL
Catch you later.

Another Resident on her way
Today was Tonner Tuesday once again. I sat patiently waiting and watching the computer clock tick the minutes til the email arrived. I bought Victoria from Twilight. She has been on my wish list since she first appeared on the market. She comes barefoot which I didn't realize. And she is flat footed. Hmm that will be a challenge for shoes. But she also comes with an extra pair of feet that can wear high heels. Man I wish I had two pair of feet sometimes. Wouldn't that be nice when your feet got sore or tired, you could just whip them off and put on a fresh pair LOL
Here's her promo pic. I already have her written into my Lofton Adventure story. Not sure what chapter she will appear in. I think I sent out 15 chapters and an epilogue. I will start it up again soon. Once this house is off the market.....9 more days to go.
I have decided to name my Wigged Tyler gal, Josie. She will either be a model or an actress. A reason to justify having so many different hair styles and colours. Of course she could be a hairdresser too like Sam is. Now the burning question is....Is Josie related to Sam? I am sure that would be a good storyline to run.
Just to refresh your memory Samantha was a runaway (from Montreal). Sam was not her real name as we found out. And she was pregnant! I still have not revealed who the father is, but I do know who it is. Sometimes I let my stories take me along for the ride (like Barclay & Clarice, and the motorcycle gang story) I like not knowing what is going to happen next or how it ends. I find the stories that I do know the ending hard to write as I have usuall lose interest in how it gets to it's ending when I already know it. Now some items you need to know ahead of time but most times I write it as it happens (or as I dream it). Yes I am still dreaming about my dolls, mostly the newer ones as I try to find ways of introducing them into Dolton or Lofton. Most of the dolls (except Victoria) don't have a pre made story. Although sometimes I look for specific dolls to fill a role that I have in mind. Just like in Dolton, Lofton is starting to fill in with occupations of everyday life. So finding doll characters for these roles is a fun and sometimes challenging part of my doll collecting. Some dolls (like Will Turner) just show up because I buy them on a whim or I get a good deal, then I have to figure out what that doll will be in my town. As we know Will fit in rather well. His job (he's a carpenter btw) made him become well known in town. And his projects enabled him to mix and get to know many of the residents. Another such character Hal Jordan, who's name is Al Jordan in Lofton will be the mail man. It not only gave him an occupation but a way of meeting almost everyone!
Here's her promo pic. I already have her written into my Lofton Adventure story. Not sure what chapter she will appear in. I think I sent out 15 chapters and an epilogue. I will start it up again soon. Once this house is off the market.....9 more days to go.

Because there are not enough male dolls made (in any size or brand) many of my ladies (in Lofton at least) are widowed or single. Slowly I am adding new males to the town, but I'm afraid these gals will always be short the men needed. I keep buying more gals LOL
Since today was the last day of Summer, the weather played nice and gave us another good day, although it was humid. We are expecting cooler temps and rain for the rest of the week. I'm sure it will be remnants of Igor that hit our east coast today. Provincial Government in Newfoundland has called a state of emergency so I gather it was pretty bad. I'm sure we will get the whole story tonight on the news. I rarely listen to the radio anymore, too many commercials. I have all my discs downloaded on the computer and tons of vinyl if I really need music. Before doll collecting I was an avid record collector. Mostly 45's. At one time I had more records than dolls, but that changed this past decade.
I'm still crocheting squares. Last night I learned how to Knook! That is knitting with a crochet hook. It's much like Tunesian crochet except the hook has a cord on the end and the item looks knitted when finished. I will have to go to Micheals this week to buy a Knooking Hook and give it a try. They are expensive though. But I have a coupon *grin*
The tutorials that they have on line (especially on UTube) are amazing. And unlike having a real person get exhasberated with you, you can replay the video over and over again until you learn it.
Well I guess that is all I have for you today. Hope your day was a pleasant one.

Just Another Day
It's another wonderful fall day here. Gorgeous sunshine, a light breeze and perfect temperature. After I made 2 more squares, I went for a short walk over to the plaza to pick up food for tonight's supper. I like doing that everyday cos you never know what you are in the mood to eat. And since it is such a lovely day we will bbque and maybe if Jack doesn't get home too late, we can eat on the deck. Haven't been many days this summer that we could do that. Too friggin' hot! And with October only a week or so away there won't be too many left this year to do so either. While on my walk I pondered what to write about today. Let's see....How about Elvis. The King is not dead. He lives in Dolton.
Anyway I have many different types of Elvis dolls. My very first one was bought waaaaaaaaay back in 1987. We had gone to Buffalo NY for the weekend. Shopping of course. I found this rubbery type of no name brand Elvis for my collection. Now remember I had only been collecting a few years and finding an Elvis doll of any kind was, well exciting. And so that is how Elvis came to live in Dolton.
This picture is from a New Year's dance (2007-08) where Elivs (in the gold suit my first one) is performing with his cousins. These are the no name brand of dolls I bought after the first Elvis. Left to right is Byron, Leroy on drums and Austin at the far right. Of course the REAL Elvis is in the background LOL
Back when I first starting making families, I tried to lump the celebrity dolls together and in this case Elvis is the son of my Prince Charles doll. His mother is an Audrey Hepburn doll. Laugh all you like. But that's how it is. Over the years other companies and then Mattel got on the band wagon and started producing Elvis dolls.
Many years later the next 3 Elvis dolls came out on the market. It was the 90's by then, maybe 1994. I can't remember the company that makes them but they also made James Dean (which I have). I will have to look at their boxes whenever I get them unpacked. (only 10 days to go). These dolls were manufactured long before Mattel got in the game. Of course once Mattel did catch up, then I bought their versions also. And now of course, I guess to make up for lost time (or revenue LOL) Mattel has been producing Elvis every couple of years. Most of them are Doltonites and only a few stay NFRB in my collection.
Now of course you must be wondering what I call all these Elvi's. Well there is only "1" Elvis and that my first one. So the rest got other names. I have divided them up into 3 families. The first Elvis of course is Elvis Taylor and plays "elvis" in Dolton.
Then come the 3 other brand Elvis', they are named Byron, Austin and Leroy. Their last name is Pressick. Each one represents the real Elvis during different stages of his life.
Lastly are the Mattel versions. Most if not all are poser dolls. Their surname is Love since IRL that was Elvis' mother's maiden name. Of course I have the Wedding Day Elvis and Priscilla set (2 actually, one is NFRB) but he will not be marrying her in my town. (broke my heart IRL when he did) So now it's my turn to get even! LOL I am not sure if Priscilla will be a relative with that black of hers or be in a totally different family. I'm still working on that!
And finally the last Elvis to be produced. This one is by Mattel.

Okay one more picture. This is an old scene that I set up a few years back of Elvis entertaining at a Clambake.
Someday I hope to renact scenes from his most popular movies. I have a book (one of many) which has pix from all his movies. My plan is to set up a scene from each one. Stay tuned......

Filling in my days
I've spent most of my summer sitting here at the computer, waiting for this house to sell. Between buying dolls and crocheting and knitting, it has helped me pass the time. Thanks to a friend (Karen) who directed me to the website called Ravelry, I find myself there constantly. So much to see and read. The things that people make are really terrific. A lot of talented people are out there. Anyway as a change from knitting doll skirts and sheaths (now boring) and crocheting ponchos (so passee) I am back to crocheting granny squares. A couple of years back I made two 6 sided square afghans. One took me a whole year to make and sew together. I swore I would never make another one. But now I find I have started one. This time though instead of plain colours I am using varigated colours. Here's a pic of the few squares that I made yesterday...Oh I see a plain one snuck in the picture LOL Well I may have to make two then, one plain and one varigated. Both will have black trim though.
The other 4 afghans I plan to make are just plain granny squares. They will be plain colours for 4 rows and the 5th row will be black for one afghan and white trim for the other. I also want to make the MAM afghans. This stands for Mile A Minute. The squares are really small, only two rounds each and then joined together in strips. You can then make them as long as you want. They would be good for the bigger dolls for their beds. Also great for using up scrap material.
The 7th afghan I started last year for a friend and grew bored with it and put it away. I will have to pull it out of the closet and finish it for him. And the 8th afghan is a Tunesian crochet, which I have just learned how to do. It's coming along slowly. I don't find it as fast as regular crocheting. But it is interesting. That one will be for my dolls.
My plan is to get all the squares done first then crochet the trim around, sew them together and by the winter time I should have them big enough to keep me warm as I crochet the trim and tie in the ends. That I hate doing!
Well I did get out and cut both the front and back lawn. It really doesn't take that long. Anyway I hope you all had a great Sunday.
But you can see how they fit like a honeycomb. I crochet 5 rounds before adding on the black to make it 6. Since this will be for a queen sized bed, I will need many many more squares.

It's such a lovely day today outside. Perfect temps, a light breeze and sunny. I should be out cutting the back lawn....but I have gotten so lazy just sitting here all summer long. *sigh*
Anyway only 11 more days til the end of the month (where did this month go?) then I will be really busy.

Milestone Today
Twenty Nine years ago today I bought my first Barbie doll. She is named Suzanne Holly Robinson. I have made her the town historian, and rightly so since she is the first resident. Her husband Glen Ritchie was the first Ken I ever bought. He is doll #7 As you may recall Glen owns the furniture store in Dolton. And so history was started. Little did know the population of Dolton would be in the thousands litterally. As of this week it reached 2651. Now that does not count the dolls in my cabinets, the NFRB dolls, the Silkstones, and the Loftonians, who btw will be getting a new resident today. Nor does it count all the kid dolls like Kelly and Tommy, Mikey, Krissy and the no name brands too. That's why when I say I have over 3000 dolls in my collection, well I do!
As I mentioned above I am getting another resident for Lofton. Soon as I finish my coffee I'm off to MFD to pick her up.
Well I'm back and here she is. It's rare that MFD makes a mistake but I ended up with this Tyler doll instead of the Honey Antoinette that I ordered. But that is okay I will keep her anyway. I will or rather have already ordered the Honey Antoinette who will be named appropriately, Honey. This gal I haven't decided what to call her as she was unexpected. But boy doesn't she look like Sam from my story. Most likely the same doll. Anyway this gal comes with 3 wigs. Nice thing is there is velcro attached to her bald scalp and inside the wigs for a secure fit. Here's a few pix of her and her different looks. Funny how a different hair do and colour changes your look so much. Maybe I should give it a try for myself. LOL

I realized it was long hair....I love the colour. You can't see it in this photo but it has a blue tinge and you know how I love blue hair LOL

Here she is with auburn hair. This was always my favourite colour in hair, maybe cos it was (very long ago) my natural colour.
And lastly is this bob or very short hair do. I don't like the colour on Tyler as I don't think it suits her. And I am not fond of short hair anyway. Makes her look butch, don't you think? And yes I have it on right, cos the velcro dots match.
Time now to go and get my lottery tickets for the day. I play everyday actually. I won two days in a row playing my population #'s. So now that one of them has changed, we'll see if my luck continues.
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

T.G.I.F.
Since it is now after midnight (12:42 actually), I can officially say T.G.I.F. Not that it makes any difference when you don't work. Everyday can be friday or saturday or whatever day of the week you want it to be. But I still like fridays the best. And of course on friday we always have Chinese Food for supper. There's a great little restaurant at the end of our street. We wait while it's made fresh and is still piping hot when we get it home.
The weather has really turned. Very cold and with the mostly all day rain it's damp too. What a change, when you consider last week we had the a/c going and today we had to turn the furnace on. Oh it didn't run much, just enough to take the chill out of the air.
Luckily I had some doll clothing that was not packed. Got omitted somehow or maye be the bag just didn't fit, in anycase, 3 of my new residents got new and warmer outfits.

Cassiopia is wearing the blue and white knit set. I believe it is an ebay item made by Steloro. Lenci in the middle is wearing a pink sheath dress with a sweater over top. That came from Anita in Sweden. And Darcie is wearing a TK outfit brought to my by Marguerite. So except for footwear the gals look pretty warm.
Well I thought I would have another doll in the mail today. I did order another Mad Men DD, this time from Vogue since back then I didn't know where we would be living. We we are still here but the doll didn't arrive yet.
The day turned out lovely. Just the right temp and with gorgeous sunshine.
Surprisingly enough I don't have a lot to say today. Oh I could ramble on about my dolls (and how much I miss them) but I just don't feel like today. So I'll post this as it is. Maybe I'll be chattier tomorrow!
T.G.I.F. everybody

2ND Post for today - They're Here!
Reason they took so long is some idiot in the post office sent the parcel to Port Perry! That is 3 hours north of here. Like duh, what do you think postal codes are for! Anyway they are here.
Whaaaaaaaaa I should have got the redhead too. Turns out my redhead is from 2007 and these 2 gals are from 2008 and I did not have these in my collection. Anyway I have named the blonde TK, Darcie and the brunette is called Cassiopia. I am naming the WW of the East Tammalie or Tammy as she may be referred to. Included in this package was a free Tyler knapsack. Not sure what I am going to do with that! Must be a ponytail theme today cos all 3 had them!

Now I'm off to Micheals! And to buy more lottery tickets but with different #'s today.
Just Like Old Times - Shopping Spree
It's just pouring down with rain today. I don't mind as it was badly needed. Even this time of year when it is cooler, we forget the plants in our gardens still need moisture. And today they are getting it good!
As you know yesterday I went to MFD to pick up my Mad Men Doll, Don Draper or Raymond as he is known in these here parts. Well buying one doll was just not enough. MFD had a sale of some older stock Genes. I bought 2 and another Integrity Gal, called Groove. She will get a real name of course. I also purchased a nice dressy outfit for a Gene, not sure who will claim it as yet. It is called Sambuca. And the last set of shoes for the Matt dolls. I got 2 new Matts last month from Tonner. They are the 2010 basic Matts which of course come barefoot now! And to round out the purchases I picked up this Remet bakery set. I didn't have that style display case. It will be a nice addition to my other pieces when I re set up Dolton.

This will probably be one of my last shopping sprees unless I win the lottery! Speaking of which I was one number shy of winning a $1,000. last night and only got $25. instead. Still it's better than not winning right. As you know I always play my populations. So these numbers came up lucky.
Well it's time to go play now. I have to name my new Loftonians (Gene dolls) and the Integrity gal too. Then I will take individual pix of them for catalogue purposes.
Maybe I will go to Micheals this afternoon, as I have a couple of 50% off coupons in my wallet *grin*
Here's a picture of the new Matts. The one on your left is very pale. I think he used the same resin as for the Edward Cullen doll. I have named him Curtis. The AA guy is more honey skinned. His name is Rudy.

Down but not Out
Was feeling rather down today. Gloomy weather has set in and it's quite cool. Although I prefer this weather. My doll order from Tonner still has not arrived yet and that worries me. Although the mailman usually doesn't get here until early afternoon. Still.....they should have been here by now. Captain Norrington arrived and he was ordered after this group.
Anyway MFD just called and Don Draper is in! So my spirits have picked up. I will head up there this afternoon to pick him up. Actually I am getting two of DD, the second one is coming from Vogue Collectibles so he should arrive by week's end. Hopefully.
As I mentioned the day is gloomy, thick cloud and not a movement out there. It's so still you could hear a pin drop, as the saying goes.
Think I'll just keep this as a draft entry until later in the day, when I will have a pic of Don for you. Oh and his name won't be Don in Silkendale. It will be Raymond Donald Draper here. Not sure what I am naming the other DD. They will be brothers though. Maybe I'll call him Dean.
Captain Norrington is not happy being named Dean. He may live in the 21st Century but he doesn't want a modern name. So maybe I will change his name to Raymond Dean Norrington. There does that satisfy you?
As most of you know in Dolton I never repeated a name. And that lasted well into 1500 or so dolls. But then I started running out of names. Oh Robert, Bob and Bobby could all be used for different guys (and generations) but then I started using hyphenated names. Sure Billy-Joe was okay and Glendon but some of the names got a bit riduculous. So in the new Dolton with more families I can have duplicates. At least with a surname to go with it I can have 10 Glens, or Roberts, or Raymonds, or Jennifers or whatever. I just have to add the last name all the time. Although it could get confusing in a story.
There will be cross overs between the town (or suburb) of Silkendale and Dolton Proper. The Heights will get swallowed up and become part of Dolton as I have always wanted. Anyway that brings me to Jack Bauer. He was originally a Doltonite but his sister Angelina is a Silkstone. I did move Jack into the Silkstone crowd but he really didn't fit in too well. So I will still keep Angelina and Jack as brother and sister even though they will live in different towns. Maybe they could be steps and have a different parent.
Well it's mid afternoon now and the postman didn't show with my parcel. So I'm off to MFD to pick up Dean Draper hah I mean Raymond. Catch you later.

Tonner Tuesday
I used to hate Tuesdays. Yeah everyone hated Mondays but Tuesdays were always my bad days. But not anymore since Tonner started having his weekly sales starting at noon on Tuesdays. Gives me something to look forward to. I wonder what he will have on sale today. I need males for Lofton. Last check, the females outnumbered the males 6:1 That's why it used to be called Venus. Of course in all my towns the females outnumber the males. They just don't make as many male dolls as female. They make more money on female dolls with their clothing and accessories.
Quite cool here today which is how I like it. I am so glad the intense heat (and humidity) of this past summer is over. I never liked summer, even as a kid. If I wasn't at the beach then I was in the coolness of our basement. Usually playing the piano, xmas carols to boot LOL I have always been heat intolerant, more so now that I have lost my thyroid. But I truly believe I always had a thyroid problem it just wasn't found. My mother told me that I had growths on my voice box and that it was from talking too much. Even as a kid I knew that didn't make sense. I guess she didn't understand what the doc told her and it was her way of trying to get me to shut up. It didn't work! Hence my nickname Chatterbox.
Well less than hour to go til the sale starts I am sitting here crocheting and counting down the minutes. I am a real clock watcher. Ironic since I don't even wear a watch. They don't run properly on me, something about my metabolism screws them up or makes them run backwards. I kid you not! I can usually, when I am outside tell the time within about 10 mins of accuracy. But when I am driving or sitting here at the computer I am constantly watching the time go by. I remember my first car that had a clock in it. A 1972 Olds Cutless Convertible. Man I spent as much time watching the hands tick by (no digital in those days) as I watched the road. I was always checking how many minutes it would take me to drive any distance. I was a fanatic about it.
The only time I am not watching the clock is in Dolton. There aren't any down there, or rather weren't any. Once I got a computer down there, I still never even checked it. Time meant nothing there. It was an escape for me I guess. And I really miss it. Oh well soon my babies, soon.....
On the bright side I am expecting another parcel to arrive. It better be today, cos I have all my lottery tickets filled out with the new population numbers. Yes I play my doll populations in the lottery. Pick 3, is the Lofton count and Pick 4 is the Dolton count. I do win occassionally. *grin*
I am also awaiting another package from California. Last week I bought 3 pair of shoes for my Ellowyne doll. All my dolls, like me have a shoe fetish. I must have 50 pair of shoes and I am not exagerating! A girl can't have enough pairs of shoes. Although I don't know why I am keeping them all, as I never wear them anymore since I no longer work. I even have a few pair brand new still in their boxes. Can you say excessive? Hah laugh all you want. I even have clothing hanging in my closet with the price tags still on them. All stuff I bought back when I worked. Hmmm I wonder if anything still fits me. Will have to try them on one of these days.
Anyway that brings me to the Dolton Standard Wardrobe. I have to thank my friend Mel who came up with that name. Many years ago when I was on a doll forum we were chatting about dolls sharing clothing. Of course I added my two cents worth (when have you known me not to) anyway I told them my dolls DON'T SHARE anything! Of course back then I didn't have even a 1000 dolls, now adays not too many of my residents have the complete Dolton Standard Wardrobe. Anyway to explain the DSW, each female must have; dress, party dress, gown, skirt, blouse, top, sweater, shorts, slacks, jeans, coat, bathing suit and some sort of sleepwear either p.j.'s or a nightie and of course a housecoat. Oh yes, shoes, boots, running shoes, hat and of course a purse. Jewellery and underwear well that was optional. With many of the fashions Barbie and most other dolls can't wear underwear under their clothing or it just won't fit. And most girls come wearing earrings, a necklace, bracelet or ring. What do you want a tiara too? LOL
The guys must have; suit, slacks, jeans, shorts, bathing suit, top, shirt, sweater, coat, shoes, and running shoes. Some have boots but it is not a necessary. And of course guys just don't have as many accessories so they are somewhat cheaper to dress. And harder to get items for too. Of course not everything has to be new or store bought. Items can be sewn, knitted or crocheted. And so I made it my quest to try and get sweaters for everyone. One friend alone knitted me over 125 sweaters for my dolls! And I lost count of how many have come from Sweden. And ebay, and doll shows. So eventually I tried making my own. But of course they are not as nice as the ones I bought.
Still 15 minutes to go. Told you I clock watch LOL
BLAH! Nothing great this week. Oh yes he had a nice Antoinette doll, in a beautiful red gown. But she would have to become a cabinet doll (and all my cabinets are full). Besides I have the Basic Antoinette (with 3 wigs) on pre-order. Insatiable Sweet Tooth and This Dish is Too Hot were on sale, for $100. each but they have the Lara Croft physique and you can't get clothing for them. And as we all know I never keep my dolls in costumes. They become ordinary citizens once they arrive. Costumes are for Halloween in my book. And so no new residents will be coming to town next week. Unless of course I see something on ebay! *grin*
Now I am just waiting for the mail man, come on!
The Bell guy is here. I should tell you we bought a new tv on the weekend. Sears had a big sale and we were planning to buy a flat screen HDTV for the next house but since that ain't happening we consoled ourselves by getting it now. It will be an early xmas present to each other. Anyway our dish has to be moved because the neighbour's tree is blocking the HD signal. It comes from a different satellite apparently than regular tv. So the man is now moving our dish onto the chimney of the house. We don't use the chimney anymore, it was for the old oil furnace, which we got rid of when we moved in here. Anyway Jack can watch his sports in HiDef and I can enjoy my new residents. See it works out all the way around.
I had other things noted to talk about today but I am not really a scripted person and therefore like to write what comes off the top of my head so to speak. I'll save those notations for a day when I don't have much to say!
Hope you are all enjoying your Tuesday. Where is that mailman?

17 Days To Go...
And counting. Well it's day two of my blog posting. So much to tell you regarding Dolton and environs (french for area). Although the summer may have seemed like a loss without my dollies, I have made the most of it sitting here at this computer. I have revamped Dolton and changed the family structure. No more 3 generations, there will only be two. And the small dolls, Sindy's, MK & A's etc etc will be children and teenagers. Although they will keep their original names that I gave them when they arrived, they will 'play' other dolls as children in my stories and scenes. The Bratz too will become little kids after the Kelly and Tommy stage. I am in the process on a very long spreadsheet, getting new surnames and placing the dolls in appropriate families. Now many of the dolls that were 'officially' married in the old Dolton will stay that way (like the Jacksons and the Heinrichs). But there are some surprises. A few dolls have died, either I ditched them or they died in a story but I still kept the actual doll. And some, well let's just say their marriages broke up. I won't tell you much because it can spoil a story. Although I bet many of you don't remember half of what you read here and other blogs where I posted my stories anyway. I was thinking of reprinting them here, say maybe a chapter a day to refresh your memories. That is if you are interested. Think I will set up a poll at the bottom of this posting to see if you are. Of course perhaps many of you have not found your way back here yet. I haven't heard from the former members (except one).
The biggest upset of all, which I will tell you because the story goes on from their break up is Tim and Denise McCarthy! My goodness even I was shocked at that one! LOL Well Tim and Denise as we all (probably don't) remember were high school sweethearts. Tim opened the very first bar in Dolton shortly after WWII ended. He and Terry Honeywell were partners as was Tim's wife Denise. Now Denise had a beautiful singing voice, okay not many of you actually heard her but, trust me she did. After their last baby was born, Harley, okay I'll post that pic for you now....
Denise was asked to sing the National Anthem at the Dolton Devils Hockey Games, well she did so well, that one day she was offered a contract to come and make a recording. To get to the point here, Denise and her younger sister Renee, who was already trying to break into the music business joined up and became a singing duo. Now I can't take credit for their success as I modelled them after The Judds IRL, although I can't legally use that name. Hmmm will have to think up one I guess. Anyway, the success took Denise away from Dolton, (I was actually thinking of getting rid of her at the time and hence this story line). But Denise is staying in my collection (for now) and so I just decided that she would leave Tim and her children behind. Tim, needless to say was devastated. Instead of the bartender listening to everyone else's hard luck stories, he now had one of his own. Many in Dolton were sympathetic to Tim's dilema and so tried to comfort him in his grief. Thank goodness Tim and Denise's two daughters were older and could help take care of the baby Harley. Despite working in a bar, Tim never did drink and fortunately has not become an alcoholic. Now the years have passed (Dolton time anyway) and Tim is finally over Denise but has become very lonely. Now comes the fun part, who in Dolton will Tim fall in love with next? An old chum from high school perhaps? A young gal who maybe is the daughter of one of his friends? (gasp). Or will it be a new resident in Dolton? I can hardly wait to find out. You see I, like you the reader don't know how these stories will go, because I usually write them as I play them or in many cases dream about them. Which you know has happened many times in the past.
Okay so what else has happened. Oh yes Blair and Dorthea's marriage is on the rocks. I am still not sure if it will survive. He still can't get over the fact that she slept with Dr. Jeremy Young before she met Blair. Come on now! I think Blair is being a bit prudish over this.
Speaking of the good doctor LOL Well his marriage to Bethany Doyle did not last long. Well longer than with Hillary. Jeremy and Bethany had 2 children to boot. Doc Young has since gotten together with an old girlfriend from his past. Shall I tell you who she is? Naw, I'll let you wait for that story.
As most of you know when I write a story many other Doltonites (characters) make appearances in it, mostly small roles. But through this you get to know the people of Dolton. Many of the characters appear in all my stories mainly because their occupation warrants it. Like Dr. Young, Tim Davidson, and of course Terry Honeywell. Oh now there's a new development there. And no it doesn't concern Genevieve who has finally moved on. Thanks to Terry many new businesses have opened up in other towns and in Dolton too. Terrys foresight and business sense has made him a very wealthy man.
Hang on, there's a knock at my door.
Yippee look who arrived.....
It's Captain Norrington from POTC fame. Ain't he handsome!!! I already have his story started. He will of course be a Loftonian. I must admit the poor man was a bit shocked when I took him out of his box. Having come from the 18th century (haven't seen the movie so I'm not sure what era POTC is from). Anyway he was quite shocked to find himself in the 21st Century. But I am sure he will adapt. I wasn't sure what to name him. Norbert Norrington sounded too, well the first name and last sounded alike. Then again I was harbouring the notion to buy 2 of him and have them as twin brothers, hence the reason for Norbert and Albert. (If there is any left I still may do that) But now that he is actually in my possession I think I will name him Dean. Okay Dean is not an 18th century name but....he is a Loftonite now LOL Anyway Dean Norrington has finally come home. He was a naval captain and away at sea most of the time. His sweet wife Olivia
seen here waits patiently for his return. They do have children. Marla is their oldest and attended the P.J. party last winter at Weasley Manor.
That's her at the end in the white p.j's with the pink hearts. That was my last Lofton scene (NY's at Weasley's) before packing up the Loftonians. They too have a huge population increase. Fifteen new residents in all (so far) although a few did arrive as I was packing. Okay the actual count is 6 since they were sent off in the pod as the others were opened before. I think Becky Weasley will have to have a grand occassion for them all to get together and meet each other. Unfortunately I won't be unpacking all my furniture and other props so scenes will be limited. For we are most likely going to put the house back on the market next spring. But that is over 6 months away and a lot can happen and change between now and then.

Well I can't seem to find how to set up the poll, maybe Google removed that feature.
Oh and just a program note, for those of you who were LOST fans, Jin will now be appearing on the remake of tv series Hawaii-5-0. This starts tonight so check your local listings. Looking forward to it.
"Book him Dano"
Whoops, looks like it's next Monday and not tonight. Dang, I was looking forward to it.

Welcome Back
Well it's been almost 3 years since I posted here. A lot has happened, or not happened. We finally decided to put the house up for sale so Jack could retire and we would then move back to the Ottawa area (Cornwall to be exact). Everything (and I mean everything) was packed up and stored in two 20' pods. So we listed the house and waited, and waited. Oh tons of people came through but no one wanted to buy this place. All kinds of excuses, "too small" was the main one. Now wait where have we heard that before? Wasn't that my lament for the past upteen years? LOL Besides that, many complained about the trains. Okay I can't do anything about that and with the 3rd rail in, I have to admit it certainly is a lot busier now although not any noisier. People are sooooooo picky! So with only 2 weeks to go on the real estate contract/listing we are resigned to the fact that we are here to stay, at least another winter. On one hand I can't wait to bring my dollies home. I fretted about them all summer sitting in storage (outside) in this awful heat wave we suffered through all summer long. On the other hand, I don't relish unloading the pods and bringing it all back in again! Well it will give me lots of exercise! And at least now it is almost fall, and not so hot!
Of course in the meantime I have still been buying dolls LOL Yes I did promise my husband once he retired my doll buying days would be over. But wait, he's still working...*evil laugh* So that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
Venus has had a name change and is now called Lofton (and has almost doubled in population). The other towns have remained the same. But this time I hope to get all the residents from the Heights into Dolton Proper. The Heights will only be for the cabinet dolls and the Loftonians. We'll see how it all fits in. Of course I am not opening everybody! My NFRB dolls will stay packed. I really just want to open my dolls and check them for any stickiness from the heat. Some of the newer dolls were never opened and they will be released from their plastic prisons.
Also I have learned to knit. Okay I still am only making skirts and tube dresses but I promise I will attempt to knit a sweater and soon. Meanwhile I found this sweater that was knit for me by Karen many years ago and dressed my new Ellowyne in it. I think it suits her. Now I just have to knit her a skirt to go with it. She is wearing one of my wooly socks right now.
One more thing, I have made this blog site public so my new friends can view it. I have found (or was invited to) a new site called Revelry. Man what a place! I love it and made a few new friends there too. Especially Deb in MD *waves*, who I hope will visit here peroidically to see what is going on in my towns. And it is hoped that my old friends who have followed me around all these years will come and join us too. I'll send you the link to remind you of this place. Even if you don't post anything that is alright. We all know I do enough 'talking' for all of us LOL I will try to post everyday and even though I don't have my residents home yet, I may just insert old pix to reminice by.
So welcome back everybody, Jane
