Born To Be Wild

Yeah you know the song. I bet you are humming it in your head or like me mouthing it out loud ha ha ha!
Anyway, not all my Motorcycle Gang members drive Harley's (actually only one does LOL) Here is Jovan riding my newest MC that I bought today. I found it for sale at my local convenience store where I buy my lottery tickets. Natually I just had to have it for my guys! This model is a BMW R1200C, with a lot of power! LOL

"I've got the key for this machine!" says Jovan.

Don't know if you can see the key in his hand.

Hop on!

Rolling down the highway!

See ya later folks!

Now I just to need to win tonight as I changed my numbers with my latest new resident (previous email). Wish me luck.
Jack has just come home so we are going out for supper to celebrate our "anniversary" of the day we met!

Look Who's Here!

Well this was the fastest delivery ever! 3 days from California and I have another resident in my town. She is High Seas Brenda Starr who never was sold in Canada and is sold out most everywhere I looked stateside. I found her on sale at Two Dreamers. I highly recommend this doll location. Not sure if it is a store or not. They also carry special edition dolls from Tonner made specifically for them. Which I have pre-ordered of course! LOL
So Welcome my new Brenda, who I have not named yet. I was thinking of Sally!
I thought she was a brunette but am delighted to see she has auburn red hair!

Who's that in the background eyeing her? Oh Spiderman!!!!

"I'd like to take you home to my web" Spiderman whispers as he wraps his arms around her!

"Sally" wonders what he looks like under the outfit. Will we ever find out? Envious Annette is in the background!

'Kiss me', Brenda thinks, 'if you can'!

Looks like it's a match eh! Stay tuned as the soap opera continues LOL

BTW today is a special day in History. Well my history LOL Jack and I met on this day, 27 years ago!!! Where has the time gone eh?

New Outfit and other news

Here is Vivian in a sweater that I crocheted for her. I think the blue looks good, don't you. Suzette, offered her skirt and shoes to Vivian to wear with the sweater. Of course Suzette got the gown in return. I still don't like it on her either, I guess cos the makeup (mainly the lips) do not match!
What do you think?

I wonder if he is real? they query....

But when the creature moves they scream and run in fear!

Please don't leave me! He cries, I just want to make some friends.

So they come back and welcome Spiderman to Venus.

Now I wonder, who is that man behind the mask?
Stay tuned to find out.
Hint: No it's not Peter Parker LOL

It's a lovely fall day here. But it was very cool last night and early this morning. Temps down to 50F Yep fall is coming. Good thing I received some nice warm sweaters for my guys today. (thanks Maureen) You will be seeing all Maureen's lovely creations soon, as I am working on a new store for Dolton or maybe it will be in Lofton. Depends on how much space I need. Stay tuned!

More pix of Lofton and a new Venetian Resident

Here's a group of 4 Venetians hanging out. Charlie is a Paradise Mike doll. He is very popular with the ladies!

This group is overlooking the stairwell.

On Friday I picked up my newest Venetian resident on my way to work. This is the MFD photo of her. She is the Wonder Woman Amazonian Warrior. It looks like she has curly hair in the promo photo but she actually has ringlets.

As you all know I don't keep my dolls in costumes. So I quickly redressed her in the outfit I bought last week. I don't think the fuschia colour suits her so I will have to find something else for her to wear.

Suzette looks envious at her new friend. Maybe they will switch outfits. We'll see.

That's all folks. Nitey nite.

Greetings from Lofton.

With the cooler weather (not to mention all the friggin' rain) I have been able to spend more time up in Lofton. Many of the DHer's have moved up there as well as the most of the Venetians. Dolton Heights is becoming a ghost town LOL Well not really. There's probably just as many residents here as up in Lofton. I am gradually making my way around the room up there pushing storage items further back beneath the eaves so I can have more room for the residents. Instead of having the houses on the floor I have several (and I mean several) plastic drawers set up around the attic where I will eventually reset up the houses and other scenes. I am planning to have a winter/xmas scene this year, as long as it doesn't get too cold.
In the first picture is the group that greets you as you come up the stairs (ladder actually) and turn face inward. One of the many plastic drawers if facing you. Most of them are holding wool, but this one and few others are holding the furniture from the houses that have been taken down.

This group is in the far back of the house. I guess there are about 100 residents in this area, most of which you can't see who are off to both sides of this picture. I think there are about 6 plastic drawers here with planks riding between them to hold all the dolls.

This group is to the right of the previous picture. They are as far back under the eaves that will allow for height. It's where the Lofton Mall and Grocery store was previously. To their right is a small book shelf (which you can't see). There's about a dozen residents on it.

Now we are back at the top of the stairs, in the ceiling you can see the edge of the solar fan. The wiring is for the ceiling lights, of which there are two florescent bulbs running down the centre of Lofton.

This picture is beside the stairs. I have a stereo here which the dolls in the yellow chairs are sitting on. Behind them is where the Venetian cottage used to be.

Oh and it is now pouring rain once again. Been this way all day. And very foggy too. It's cool but very muggy here mostly because of all the rain we have been getting. Speaking of rain I hope all of my Texas friends are safe and dry. Check in when you can. My thoughts are with you.

When it rains it pours

And I'm not talking about the weather. Today more residents arrived, courtesy of Marguerite who picked up this Havanna Basil for me from the Doll Market. He looks very much like a Matt O'Neill doll but he has just a trace of stubble on his chin and side cheek. Don't know if the 2nd pic captures that or not, as it is very faint. Anyway I am glad to finally get him as he never came to Canada and he sold nude on ebay for more than the price at the Doll Mkt so he was a deal no matter how you look at it.
His hat wouldn't stay on him so he is tipping it off to you Marguerite!

These new Dolton residents hitch hiked in his box for the ride! That brings the Dolton population up to 2505 now. The Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey set were sold here but I thought they were too expensive, but they sold out before they could ever go on sale. Ironically I just saw the movie "Enchanted" the other night.
The Halloween Barbie is not this year's model. She has purple streaks in her hair.
And this Ken never showed up in Canada at all! Mattel I am pissed at you for that! Can you believe we still never got any clothing for Ken this year. If it wasn't for my friends south of the border, my poor guys would have nothing to wear!

Anyway, Thanks M! Hope you are enjoying the Convention and are not drowning in all that rain down there.

Here it is a gorgeous fall day. Lovely sunshine and cool temps. Just the degree that I like.

And I almost forgot your Uncle Sam! Is that what you call him? Anyway he will be a senior resident in Dolton. Lots of old men are joining this town, hmmm I may have to open a retirement residence here! Yeah I can see it now, Dolton Estates! Hmmmm

New Residents to Venus

Well I got lucky again last night and won some $$$ in the lottery. A week's pay actually *big grin* So off I went shopping. I splurged most of it on more lottery tickets since my numbers have now changed with today's increase. And a new hair cut, which was badly needed. My hair has grown incrediably long, half way down my back. But it was just getting too much to handle and so I mostly wore it in a ponytail. Now I have it all layered and it is shoulder length. Once in awhile you just have to splurge on yourself I guess.
Of course I also went doll shopping *even bigger grin* MFD had some big girls on sale and so off I went to buy them. There is still one more to add to this group, she is coming later. I'll keep you in suspense as to who she is! I also saw the new Rhett today (the 17" guy) not impressed. He looks more like he should be in Morticia and Gomez's family than Scarlett's! Although if and when he comes on sale I will most likely buy him as I do need more males for Venus.

Here's the group that arrived today. I also bought an outfit for the new girl that is coming and an extra pair of shoes. These seemed to be a different shade of red that I don't have. Whether you are a doll or a real life woman, one cannot have too many shoes! I have a terrible shoe fetish....LOL

Here's the latest Brenda Starr, she is supposed to be undercover, hence the name 'Aurora Starr' and different colour hair. Brenda's is normally red. I coveted this gal for a long time! I posed her sideways so you could see the flower in her hair. I love her outfit too. Very classy!

Here's a close up of her face.

And here is another gal from the Oz collection. Of course I have had my eye on her since she first appeared on the scene. But there is always so many dolls to buy so waiting for a sale is a must sometimes so you can afford more LOL She is called Ambassador in Pink, but I have named her Annette.

She looks much better without the coat, don't you think. The bow and flower will have to go too. Makes her look more mature without it.

As you can see by the pix I was in a race with the impending storm clouds closing in. Marg from MFD is already in Orlando (convention) and she said it's pouring buckets there. So any of you that are attending that convention, take your umbrella and high boots LOL

The kitchen is at a standstill now until the counter arrives. Should be next week. Boy I hope so. This living without a kitchen sink (and running water) is the pits! Although my dishwasher is installed and I can use it. Still for cooking we have to go to the bathroom to drain stuff. We do have a water cooler for fresh water, courtesy of Jack's workplace who loaned us one of theirs.

So other than that, not much else is new. Lots of rain here though, thanks to the remnants of Gustave. Yes those storms do travel this far north. Hannah has not affected us as it travels up the east coast and we are too far in land for her to bother us. Although our maritime provinces are really taking a beating. Lots of flooding there.

I hope you are all staying dry and are preparing yourselves for Ike. He is gonna be a killer I fear.

Stay dry folks. I'm heading for higher ground (Lofton LOL)
