Today's picture is of some of the fairies that live in TuMani (these live in my bedroom)--some of them are mine and some are Jaime's. I finally got tired of them falling of the shelf or being pushed of the shelf by other residents. I think the others thought since they had wings they should be airborne.
The girls are finally gone for the weekend. I helped them pack the car and finally got them out of the house about nine or a little after and they made it to the hotel about ten thirty. I wish they wouldn't wait until the last minute to decide to do things. Last night about nine thirty I was helping Meg make sushi to carry. They also carried cups of noodles and sandwich fixings and a case of ginger ale. Food at venues is so expensive and all hotel rooms now come with microwaves, coffee makers and tiny refrigerators so everybody takes stuff. I myself have a problem giving three dollars for a soda :(
I made it up to the Crossings this morning for a few minutes and took some chairs and couches that I had been promising the residents I would bring them. I also carried a can of black spray paint to freshen up the paint of a couple of black concrete kitties . I have plans on doing a little painting in what we refer to as my "workroom" this weekend. I have moved all of my stuff out of the room except for the cedar wardrobe which has the winter coats and it has to stay. The wardrobe belonged to my mom and for years we moved it from one room to another until it finally found it's home in that room when we built on about twenty or so years ago. Mama had the whole cedar bedroom suite. The head and foot are in the attic and Jaime has the chest of drawers. I bought a cedar chest some years after she gave me the rest of the stuff. She said the cedar was to be given to Jaime someday. Of course with our limited space I bought a single bed for Jaime ten or so years ago and Meg also has a single bed---but one day when they have houses of their own I am going to load them down with furniture. The chest of drawers that Meg has also belonged to my mom---I gave it to her for Christmas or her anniversary one year. I can't remember when but she wrote it one the inside of one of the drawers. The bad thing about it---the top drawer still has some of my dad's stuff in it. Mama never went through it and neither have I--even after all these years I still feel as though I am snooping. I did find a place in the house for the bench that Donald gave me---I am now using it as the piano bench---it is a little longer and has a back and that is what I like. The piano bench I have behind a chair in the living room with one kitty carrier under it and one sitting on top but it is the perfect height to use to sit the sewing machine on so I don't have to sit in the floor to sew. I believe at sixty I am too old for that----okay getting down there is no problem but the getting back up after sitting for several hours is.
I have promised a couple more dolls that I will take them out of their plastic prisons over the weekend. I have a sparrow man I haven't opened. I don't know whether to put him with all those girls or whether they will beat him up or their could be a hair pulling cat fight over him---stay tuned for the results :)

Today's pictures are of two new TuMani residents. Margie is a repro twist and turn--she is a long lost sister of Maggie (the first Barbie I ever had) Maggie is busy getting married---it has been a long ceremony as it has been going on for several years ---time moves differently in doll life :) The second picture is of Kathleen---she is the Summer Hair Model dolls---she has strawberry blonde hair with green stripes. Margie has pulled off her coat and hat because it is eighty degrees here. The girls are leaving in the morning for an anime convention in Nashville. I finally got through with all the costuming. I told Jaime if all else failed she could pin her obi if she doesn't have time tow sew on snaps. It is only about forty miles away but they have a friend that is getting a hotel room and they are going to room with her and all of them are going to split the cost of the room. Their portion of the room will be less than the cost of gas to go and come three days since our gas is now three dollars and a half a gallon. There have even been some cases of people driving off without paying----one woman in a SUV ran over the attendant at one station ---she is now in jail. This is Gary's weekend to work so the kitties and I will have the house to ourselves for the major part of three days. The only thing I don't like is we are supposed to get rain again---I think this is the fifth weekend it will have rained. We have had over twenty inches of rain since the beginning of the year. Gary went back to the doctor yesterday and he is doing just fine. I realize he is never going to be completely "cured" but there are people in a lot worse shape. As a matter of fact our friends Margaret and A B are two of them. Margaret has rheumatoid arthritis, lupus , has both breasts removed and a host of other problems, A B has had a triple bypass, diabetes, and I don't know how many cancerous growths he has had taken off his face and neck. Then there are Hazel and Donald. Hazel has high blood pressure and was in a car wreck a few years ago and has a metal hip and leg bone and Donald has had two heart attacks and is diabetic and all of them get up off their butts and move. Gary has yet to walk to our mail box. Okay enough of the soapbox for today. The residents that moved from Meg's room the Crossings seem to be happy now that everything is almost set back up. I do intend to put some little party lights around the perimeter of the house so they can see better . And they are in better spirits since I have put a fan in another window---poor things---when vinyl sweats it's awful.

New kitty portraits

I finally got around to painting some of the new kitties on various doors in the house. As most of you know from reading my Yahoo blog---if it doesn't move I paint it:) The first picture is of Piper--she is painted on the outside of the bedroom door. You can see the little bit of white under her throat. She is marked exactly like Ollie except and her face is shaped like Artie's. The funny thing is when Diannah wants to pick on her Luna (momma kitty) will take up for Piper and Diannah is her one of her own. When the kittens were born under our bed poor Luna was convinced that there was one more under there. We moved everything to try to prove to her that she only had four kittens but she has been looking for the extra every since she had her little soon to be nine years ago. Once I brought Piper home Luna took one look and her and now no longer looks for that extra kitten. I guess she thought Piper had fallen through a worm hole and only appeared last summer. We have had Piper since last August or early September and she is just now beginning to become a "person" She still doesn't like cats she says she is allergic to them. Piper came from Petsmart and the tag on her cage said she was a couple of years old--not so. She was not even a year old when we got her as she has grown to be "cat" sized . I guess she weighs about seven pounds now. The second picture is of Chloe (Jaime's kitty that we lost two years ago ---she was diabetic. I long ago had painted Chloe's picture on Jaime's bedroom door but added Asuka a couple weeks ago. Chloe is the one standing up and Asuka is the one lying down. Asuka has a checked face and butt. She is a tiny kitty with an overbite and sinus problems. The last picture is of Tunkie which was painted many years ago. She is the one in the foreground lying down and I added Cassie in the background looking over Tunkie's back. Funny thing is all the kitties go around and look at their portraits. I have promised Ed, Pedro and Mitzi that I will get them painted before long. Ed is real fluffy and I am just now catching on how to paint fluff, Peds is a grey tabby and tabby's are hard to paint and then Mitzi has those cute little teeth to paint. I did make Jaime's big guy doll some underwear this morning. He came naked and bald at the doll show. He is about twenty inches tall. She did buy a wig for him but hasn't painted his eyes. She said she didn't want him to know he was naked. I told him I had made him swim trunks. I did find one more little Bratz boy kid with the Elvis curl and repainted his eyes blue. I told him his name was little E---does anyone remember when Nicholas Cage played "little E" on Saturday Night Live? I have thought about getting one of the Oliver dolls from the Hannah Montana line and let him be Donny Osmond's son but am waiting for him to go on sale. Has anyone seen the new Bratz girls with all their posing parts? I noticed their hands bend, their elbows bend and their upper arms twist. I don't know if any of their lower parts bend or not. Have I mentioned that"Hannah Montana" is going to film part of her new movie in Columbia, Tennessee which is about fifteen miles from us. I will try to remember to stay out of Columbia while that mess is going on. Meg wants me to move Chateau La Chat to the Crossings so the kitties can't throw the doll furniture out on the floor. I told her she would have to help me get it up there as it is a two man er woman job. Meg is taking this week off from working on Jaime's room. She still has to put the doll boxes back on the top shelf and then we are going to staple up some heavy plastic to keep them off that shelf. Then the main doll shelf has to be cleaned and redone---I took a look at it this morning and I do believe there is an orgy in progress. Well time to check on the pig butt that is cooking for supper

Metalmaven Vanessa Perrin

Today I took Elly (my neighbour) out to visit her friend. On my way home I popped into MFD just to visit. Of course knowing me I can't go there and not buy anything LOL

This is who I brought home with me.
As you know MFD often sells secondary market dolls. I brought home these 3 Sandy gals for their gowns. But being the doll softy that I am, I decided to keep them. Plus I knew that I already this doll in my collection. She is the one in the pink gown. Now I will bump her up to first generation and these gals will be her daughters. Just have to find her a husband.

New guy in TuMani

Today Rowan arrived from Paradise Galleries. He is a sparrow man (boy fairy) he gets his name from the rowan tree. He is somewhere between sixteen and eighteen inches tall. He has pointed ears :) The little girl standing in front of him also came from Paradise Galleries several years ago. I think her name was Kelly --she has a music box in her back that plays "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover" I don't have very many porcelain people as I have very little space to put them that is "cat proof" I have a harlequein doll that I bought from a cousin at her yard sale many years ago I will take a picture of and post. She is so pretty. Her boyfriend bought the doll for her and then they had a falling out and I got the doll for five dollars. She still had her original price tag when I got her and she was over fifty dollars. Well Meg worked over four hours in Jaime's room yesterday and is back at it this morning. She told Jaime last night if she messed it up again she was going to ram a spork up her butt. Knowing Jaime as I do Meg might as well get that sprok ready. This morning I have already taken Artie to the vet for a maintance shot---he has gum ulcers that require antibiotics and steroids every once in a while. We had some rain a little while ago and I am afraid to look in the pans for fear I haven't gotten that stupid leak fixed but I was talking to my vet and he said he had a new roof put on his house six weeks ago and last week he had a leak----brand new roof leaks :( Well need more coffee.

TuMani News

First is a picture of my little Bratz kids boys--found them at Target on clearance. We only had one little Bratz kid girl in TuMani---Jaime got Jade for Christmas 2006--so now she has some friends. I checked the height and the boys are just a little taller than the big little Kellys and are about the same height as the new Strawberry Shortcakes-----the in the middle have the Elvis curl thing going on. The second picture is of some of the bigger girls in TuMani---there are several from the Strawberry Shortcake line and a big little Bratz baby (Cloe) and then there is one of the larger Yummi Land girls along with Belle and a little girl doll that Jaime always called Whoopsie because when you squeeze her tummy her little "dog ears" go up and she makes a whoopsie sound.

Jaime had told Meg she would pay her if she would clean her room so today poor Meg is in Jaime's room working . So far she has worked about three hours and found a little piece of floor. I hope I don't lose Meg in all the mess. I went back up on the roof once again with some step flashing and put on the edge of the roof where we think the water is running back under and also carried a bucket of wet patch and sealed all the seams. When I was up there Sunday and mashed on that particular spot the roof peed on me so maybe I have found the right place. Rain is moving in again tonight so I guess I will find out soon enough. I also caught all the kitties and gave them their flea spot medicine. Since I have seen ladybugs, mosquitoes, and picked a tick off me I know the fleas will soon be coming. Last year the fleas were so bad Ed and Inky lost a lot of their hair and I don't want that to happen this year. In a bit I will need to decide what to have for supper---I am sort of leaning toward meatloaf and rice. Has anyone been to an ALDI grocery store. We have several in our area but yesterday was the first time I had ever been in one. They charge you a quarter to use a shopping cart and they have no bags to put your groceries in. It is sort of like a Save A Lot as they have things sort of wearhouse style. I did buy two cans of lima beans, a can of little green peas and a can of asparagus---I could carry that much in my hands. I might go back for the beans as they were a good price but I will take Meg with me next time so we can carry twice as much---I don't think I should have to pay for using a shopping cart :( Well need to check on Meg as I haven't heard her making gagging noises lately.

Ready for the Beach

Here is Denton Shaw sporting his new outfit. He can hardly wait for Dolton Beach to open! I just love the new sandals that Mattel made this time around!
This outfit has a jacket that he can wear in the evening when sitting around the campfire.

The Show Continues

The Show continues, with the girls in a huddle. Someone is in the centre.

Look who pops out!

No it's not Frank but a new 'Ole Blue Eyes' (Micheal Buble maybe)

Belting out a tune.

Hope you enjoyed the show!

Come to the Cabaret!

Finally I got my Cabaret Scene set up. The first pic is with the back drop they arrived with.

Check out the gals.

Now let the show begin!

This is set up on my stage.

Hats Off!

Part of the routine.

In a Huddle

I wonder who's inside?

Stay tuned!

JP's Feet

I renamed Pierre, Jean-Pierre since I already have a resident named Pierre.

I also found him a pair of jeans that I had picked up somewhere, probably at a toy show as they are home made. They fit in length but as you can see need altering around the waist. JP is 13" tall so the Ken slacks are too short and rather tight around the waist too. I imagine the My Scene trousers will fit him though.

JP arrived wearing thongs. He has a split between his toes for the strap. It's neat but could present a dilema for finding closed shoes to fit him. I think the oversize Ken shoes from a few years back may fit.

I tried on a pair of the sneakers and although they are tight, they fit him okay.

Simone Rouge & Pierre from Integrity

Today MFD notified me that my SR was in. So I rushed out and went to pick her up. I AM PLEASED! She is so much like the 2007 TK, although I don't mind.

Also I found 'Pierre' from Integrity for sale on the shelves. He was the display model for the store otherwise I would never have been able to buy him.

She has lovely auburn hair, full of curls. Her shoes have boa feathers on them. As they are supposed to be bedroom slippers LOL

Here she is beside the 2007 Basic TK. Not much difference IMO. Although her face is a bit rounder than TK's.

SR close up!

Now I will have to start a new family for my Veroniques instead of having them in the Sideshow brand of dolls. As they were the only ones tall enough (besides the My Scene guys) to fit with them.
Here's the new family! My Vanessa Perrins (not shown in the picture) will be in a separate family as they are shorter than Veronique.

Change Population

Oh I just got another parcel delivered to the door! It's a new Ken and tons of clothing too. Now I have to run out and buy new lottery tickets! What a banner day!!!!
I'll set up the tea set shortly.
