Bratz Girl and FF Gal

Here's my Bratz gal, as yet un-named. But I decided to name the FF Barbie, Mauve. Okay so it's a colour but....did you know that Mauve is Latin for Violet? Therefore that is why I named her that. Not to mention that her outfit is mauve in colour too LOL
So what's the deal with these dolls only having one shoe? There is an extra purse and "1" shoe attached to the handle of the box. I can see people stealing them off other boxes to make a pair!
I can't tell you how much I love this gal. Her face is soooo cute! And the make up is very well done. The little bangs are a nice touch. Which btw is styled the same way as the Ken dolls. Hmmmm!
I can't wait to see the Teresa, Summer and other dolls in this series!

Here They Are!

Here's the group photo. The new Eve Kittens are on the left. The Bratz gal is wearing a mini Xmas outfit similar to the Charisse dolls from the 90's. I guess that is why I liked/wanted her. I also got an FF gal in a mauve outfit. She has a very pretty face. Will take a close up of her later. I found this dress on sale at the grocery store. Really cute. and lying on the table is the latest knit outfit that I won on ebay. Brenda is holding an orange wig that I bought for my Doltonites.

Here is Shanghai Brenda up close.

And here are my Kittens! Don't they make you purr? LOL

Oh the boots are not painted on! Aren't they cool?

Oh No!

It was bound to happen and today it did! I bought so many dolls that I lost count! (6 not 5) LOL Okay so it doesn't seem like such a tragedy but... I play my town populations in the lottery and I played the wrong numbers!!!! Yikes! Dilema, now should I go out and buy more tickets to represent the "true" population or just let it lie. Decisions, decisions! Tell me what you think!

TuMani update

Today's pictures are of the refrigerator at Jaime's work. It dates from the 1950 s and hadn't been defrosted in some time. She wanted to defrost it so I helped her Saturday. Well forty or fifty pounds of ice were in it---that is not the sun you see in one of the pictures it is the light bulb shining through the ice. We worked for over four hours and the ice was almost gone and the last hunk of ice unveiled a pin hole in the coils and all the freon escaped and the damned thing died. Jaime was beside herself but luckily the bosses thought it was sort of funny. Said they had talked more than once about replacing it and were glad they finally had an excuse to do it. So one of them went out to Lowes yesterday and bought a new one. In other news Gary is in the hospital with pneumonia, bronchitis and a couple more related things. I had begged him to go to the doctor for some time and he wouldn't but Sunday afternoon (Jaime and I had gone back to finish mopping up the water from that frig) when we got home he got me to look at his legs and they were swollen and so was his chest---you could have bounced a quarter off them. I took him to the ER and after hours they finally told us what was wrong and admitted him. He is doing better cause now he is beginning to complain. Of course with so much excess fluid they gave him lasix and he was peeing a lot---but he had about twenty pounds of excess fluid to get rid of--that's where all that swelling was coming from. He will probably be there for the rest of the week--but that is where he needs to be with people that can make him take his medicine and all. We are going out to see him in a few minutes and I will update later.

Been Shopping

Well it didn't take #2403 long to find an outfit. The Dolton Heights Clothing Store manequin donated it to her LOL
I won 3 sweaters yesterday on ebay so the boys will be clamouring for them soon.
Snow flurries are swirling around today but it's not cold. I'm off for the rest of the week so hopefully I will get my New Year's scene done!

6 Nudies

These latest immigrants arrived from Texas today. Thanks Marion. As you can see they are all rather embarrassed to be seen this way. If I didn't have to head out to work (shortly) I'd take the time to dress them.

Latest Resident

As I replied to Yvonne on her blog entry, today was another shop til you drop day. WM had the Island Princess dolls on for $7. I bought the blonde one, which looks like a Lea/Kayla doll. I have wanted her for awhile. Also the doll house that I had been eyeing was 40% off, so I bought that too.
Plus I bought a ton more of wool LOL My fingers are tired just thinking about all the crocheting I want to do LOL Found some nice colours though!

I know time is passing but I still am working on my NY's Ball scene. Stay tuned it will happen LOL

Today is Meg's sixteenth birthday and this is a picture of her cake. It is a Hello Kitty cake. We couldn't find a pan of Hello Kitty so we made the cake using a nine inch round pan and two heart shaped cupcakes from a pan that make six cupcakes. Luckily two of them came out without tearing. The nose is a peanut M and M , and the whiskers and eyes are black icing from a tube we bought--the bow is a candy type mess that ran off the cake at first and we had to fill it with pink sugar sprinkles to make it behave. Of course the fact the weather was almost eighty degrees and humid as all get out didn't help either. And we didn't forget the mouth---poor Hello Kitty doesn't have a mouth .
Jaime has been out doll looking and found the new Mary Poppins at the WM in Columbia but we already have Mary Poppins from the first time. We will probably buy Bert and the kids when they finally come out--maybe. She stopped at Target the other night and brought home the new Summer doll that is from the Top Model Resort series---still hasn't had time to take her out of the box.
Okay I need some help with a rat---what can I feed him to make him leave the house. He is in the attic and has already come down and eaten a whole case of M and M's and some candy that Jaime had covered with latex to make molds for resin. I found where he had chewed a place about the size of a half saucer at the very top of the wall next to the attic and I patched it and he ate the patch and chewed another whole and another whole all the same size. I have put up Decon for him and I have given him moth balls (the smell will chase off dogs in the yard and mice) but so far I haven't been able to get rid of this thing and I am afraid he will chew through electric wires and start a fire.

New Residents

Well I visited MFD late this afternoon. She had just got in a new shipment of dolls and so of course I just had to buy some.

Here's my new residents! I am very pleased with them all. When you press the record, it plays the Grease Theme Song.
There is "talk" that they might make a John Travolta doll to go with this set but...he will most likely be a BC exclusive! *whine*

I did see Bert from MP today and he is very well done. Looks 'exactly' like the character in the movie. And that is the reason why I did not buy him. His grin is just too corny for Dolton. Mary Poppins is awful as I mentioned before. But Jane and Micheal are cute and will eventually come to Dolton to live. I am not much for children dolls so they are not a priority to buy.

I expect the TK sale to come up soon so Dolton will grow even more this month! Shall we wager on when I'll reach 2500? ha ha ha!

Today's picture is of Jaime's kitty Mitzi catnapping a stuffed Halloween kitty---it is wearing an orange hat and mask. She has also taken to stealing socks and the other night she was carrying a stuffed penguin through the house that was as big as she. Jane-- she has also been stealing a pink chair you sent...we finally had to move the chair to another room. Our weather has been brutal the past couple of days---we have had one hour of above freezing temperatures since New Year's night. It is supposed to only go as low as the mid twenties tonight---I have kept the kerosene heater on for the past couple of nights and slept in the living room either on the love seat or the floor--I am getting too old to sleep on a cold floor as my bones ache but I am afraid not to stay near the heater just in case it goes nuts---we have never had any problems but I like to be safe. This next Wednesday will be Meg's sixteenth birthday---Jaime has went a little overboard on presents but she sort of looks at Meg as her own ---I told Meg at least I wasn't going to make her bake her own birthday cake---when I turned sixteen my mom was working and one of my girl friends came home with me and helped me make my own cake. That was the last year I bothered with a cake for me---and that has been a long time. I wanted to get some stuff put up this week in the playhouse but it has been way too cold to even go up there. I hope next week is warmer.

Pics From Connie

Here are a few pix that Connie sent me of her new girls. The redhead in the first pic is the new Dynamite Gal. When she arrives at MFD, she is coming home with me LOL I wasn't sure about her until I saw this pic of her. Now I know I want her LOL

Connie's better late than never Halloween scene. Notice the pouty Silkies dressed as witches. They sure suit the part LOL

These gals are wearing the Dressmaker Fashions. They are just too expensive for my pocketbook!

You Know Me Better Than That LOL

Of course I can't let this season go by without having a New Year's Ball in Dolton!
The reason I figured out, that I hadn't done the scene is the location just didn't suit me.
Of course after playing in Dolton all afternoon, it seems to have sparked my imagination and I found the perfect place to hold the NY's Ball. I just have to empty it, which I am in the process of doing.
In the meantime here's a few pix from a story that I am working on. Actually it will also be included in Genevieve's story, as it will be amalgamated with the Dolton Heights Clothing Store story. If you recall, DH had a big sale to announce the opening of the expansion of their clothing store. Do you remember the ad in the Dolton Chronicle? Well here it is again.
DOLTON HEIGHTS CLOTHING STORE
TO CONTINUE IN CELEBRATING THE GRAND OPENING OF THE LOFTON MALL, THE DOLTON HEIGHTS CLOTHING STORE WILL BE HAVING A HUGE SALE THIS COMING SATURDAY.
DROP BY TO SEE THE NEW FALL FASHIONS THAT WILL BE AVAILABLE.
FREE COFFEE AND DONUTS WILL BE PROVIDED COURTESY OF JOHN’S COFFEE SHOP HERE IN THE HEIGHTS
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
Not to be outdone, Hillary decided to have a sale of her own....just in time for the Holiday Season. Here is her ad in the Dolton Chronicles!
GOWNS ARE IN!
COME INTO THORNBECK’S THIS WEEK
AND GET YOUR BALLGOWN NOW FOR NEW YEAR’S
WE HAVE A BIG SELECTION IN STOCK
ALL NEW GOWNS JUST ARRIVED THIS WEEK!
Anyway here is a small scene that I set up for the occassion. I didn't have a lot of room in this spot so not as many gowns could be displayed as I wanted. Still I'm sure you get the idea.

You can even see a Tuxedo for a guy in the background.

Manequin modelling a gown.

I doubt the ball scene will be ready tonight and tomorrow I have to work, so it will be Friday perhaps before it is done. Get your dancing shoes out, it's gonna be fun!
