At last the cupboards are in!

I can't begin to tell you how happy and relieved I am that the counter is finally installed. Along with the sink too. This morning I hand washed every dish I could find just to try out my sink LOL I'm sure that fad will end soon!

Jack spent yesterday connecting the plumbing for the sink and reinstalling the dishwasher, which he wired in permanently.
You may think these pictures were taken at high noon but you would be wrong. The sun has almost set here but there are heavy clouds about, yet the kitchen is still bright as if the sun was shining. How can this be? We did buy a light fixture for inside the solar tube. It called for a 60 watt bulb but boy that was too strong, so we have a 40 watt inside the tube. The reason it is so darn bright is the glass on the solar tube is a 4 sided prism, hence the glaring light. Yes it does look a bit harsh but at least you can see what you are doing. And this picture was taken without a flash!

Here's the corner section. As you can see I have plenty of counter room. Beside this pic is the old kitchen. Ugh! The old counter ended at the coffee pot (lower pic). The sink was in the middle and it was only a single sink. The dishwasher was a portable and sat under the window where the new (double) sink is now.
The toaster is almost in it's same spot. I will put the blender and milk shake maker in the corner at the back (new kitchen) as they will be out of the way and can be pulled forward when in use. You can also see the dishwasher underneath. To the left of the dishwasher is a corner cupboard. Man I have a lot of room in there for stuff. Okay food LOL

So as you can see there is a big difference! And all the items on top of the old cupboards now have a place to be put away and not seen. Here too you can see our old back splace that I wish we could find.

We still have to paint another coat on the walls, which is why my curtains aren't up yet in the window. And we are still looking for the backsplash to put between the counter and the upper cupboards. Can't find one we like. And I don't want tile! The original backsplash we had would have matched perfectly but you can't find it anymore, it was 15 years old. And we "had" to remove it for the cupboards to be installed. Now I am sure the cupboards could have been installed anyway but again, another bone of contention with HD in that regard!

Anyway no more bickering. I am pleased as punch with my new kitchen. Now for the basement.....well see you in 6 months ha ha ha!

Last night, as most of you know was my last shift at the lottery booth. It was busy as usual cos the friggin' jackpot is 26 million dollars! Give me a break! Anyway I had mixed feelings about leaving as I did like the job for the most part. Today I returned my cleaned uniform tops. Man I couldn't even find a parking spot at this mall! Hah one of the reasons I am glad I am not returning there. It is, I think the 3rd largest mall in Canada!
On my way home I decided to pop into Fabricland, it's a chain store that sells fabrics (obviously). So I renewed my membership (you get big discounts with it) for 3 years and proceeded to shop. As some of you know my fabric accummulation is one of my weaknesses! I actually hit 2 Fabriclands as I was looking for Halloween material. Now I just have to settle myself down and sew.

Since my original Halloween scene cannot be set up, I have decided on an alternate one which I will hopefully do up in Venus (AKA my dining room). Don't get too excited now as it will only be a dance. All my props are buried deep in Dolton and I am not buying more for upstairs. Hence the sewing! Anyway stay tuned it's playtime!

Oh and I almost forgot, a ton of sweaters arrived today from ebay. I'm a gonna be a busy gal!

Another new addition

Another Bratz girl has arrived today. I have wanted her for awhile but held off hoping she would come on sale. This didn't happen. But I had a coupon for Sears which I used towards her and the Bratz house that I bought along with it. So now my Bratz community outnumber my Silkies by 3. Watch out the little people are taking over LOL
The witch I received yesterday has come to our TRU, figures. But no Barbie witches at all!!! Barbie is showing up less and less on our store shelves these days. Bratz and Hannah Montana have taken over. I don't like the HM dolls, they are ugly. But her accessories are great. Too bad you get stuck with a doll too!

It's damp here today which makes it seem colder than it is. No sun either. I took Elly out this morning then hit the farmer's market for some fresh veggies. Went to RONA for some paint. It's a pale mint green. Going to paint my laundry room that colour as I hope to lay down a gray toned flooring. At least that is my plan, if I can find it. It needs to be brightened up in there.

Most of Dolton was pannelled with dark wood too and that may go. Depends on how energetic I get. I don't know where I am going to put everything to lay down the floor. I guess we will just have to do it in stages.

Went up to Lofton yesterday to do some shifting around. But it is so crowded up there now, I don't know how I am going to set up scenes. About 25 or so of the Venetians and at least a 100 HDer's are living up there now.

Thank goodness Monday is my last day to work. My boss called yesterday and in desparation asked me to stay on til Xmas. Not bloody likely!

Well I'm off to buy more lottery tickets with my new population numbers. Wish me luck!

Oh I've added a picture of my counter so you can see the colour. It came in 3 pieces but one piece was so long we can't close the door to the dining room.

With the new light in the solar tube (which is waaaaaaaaaaaaay to bright) this dark counter will absorb the light and not make it seem so harsh on the eyes. It's like high noon in the kitchen when the light is on!

T.G.I.F. everybody.

Once A Kid...

...always a kid. What can I say? I saw this little cutie at Meijer and had to have her. She reminded me so much of the Liddle Kiddles that I had as a child. She looks really cute sitting on my dresser with the rest of my doll collection. Of course I did take her out of the package. We've all seen Toy Story 2 right?

Just In time for Halloween

Today is all good news. For a change! First off my counter top arrived! Yippee!

Secondly I heard from Diane at long last. Missed you!

Thirdly I received a Halloween Bratz from Yvonne. Thank you. Just in time for Halloween. I am debating whether to name her Elsa or Afton. What do you all think?

It's another lovely fall day, albeit a bit cool. I have sooooooo many things to do, that I don't know where to begin. Oh I want to play so much but I have plenty of clean up to do first. Am presently digging up all the tiles in the basement. They are so brittle and snap like glass. They were truely ready for a change. We will lay down vinyl flooring as it is cheap and so easy to clean.

But first things first, I must change my lottery numbers with my new resident and then hope for the best.

Catch you all later.

Famous Last Words or yet another shopping Spree LOL

Okay, okay so no matter how many dolls I have, I can still find more that I want LOL
This High School Musical guy - Troy, comes with his graduation gown and cap. I bought him so my shorter gals can have an escort for around town. I think he will match well with my MK & Ashley gals. And of course let's not forget the Bratz!
This AA version I just could not resist! And look at her short curly hair! She was the only one on the shelf. She also comes with a gold mini dress and a black fur coat, yummy! She will be a popular gal in Bratzville!

It was time to change my population for Dolton and Bratzville anyway, both their numbers came up last night. In the past 10 days I have won just over $300. So I feel this latest shopping spree was well deserved. *grin*

I also bought myself a new purse. And....another ton of wool at Walmart. Everytime there is a new colour, or varigated wool, I just have to buy it LOL What for chairs, ponchos etc.
Our Walmarts will be discontinuing to sell fabric, at least in bolts. The saleslady told me they will have precut fabric only. I guess it saves on staff. And lets face it how many people sew today! Okay besides us doll collectors and seniors who make quilts (apparently they are the big buyers of fabric these days). Anyway I stocked up on some remants for, you guessed it doll clothes. With the rearrangement in Venus, I can now get to my sewing machine. Yeah!!! It will soon be coat time!!!
Oh and I also bought more items for my Halloween scene. I'm getting excited about it this year!
Catch you all later, it's time to play!

2 Gorgeous Dolls have arrived

Yesterday these two lovely ladies arrived from California. They are made by Tonner and are called Ashleigh dolls. Although they are exclusive to the TwoDayDreamers store and only 300 of each doll has been made. I think I should have bought the blonde too. I am really happy with these ladies and can't wait to dress them up!

Here's a head shot of them. I think I will name the brunette Carol or Caroline, haven't decided yet. The redhead is still as yet unamed as I already have a gal named Ashley in Venus and as you know I don't repeat names.

Here is one of my Tyler dolls that arrived earlier this summer. She is wearing a gown that I won on ebay, which came from Hong Kong. I think it suits her.

Lots of news to tell you, none of which is good I'm afraid. For one my kitchen is STILL not finished yet. It's been a nightmare with Home Depot, of which we will never shop in their stores again! We have been without a sink or counter for going on 3 months now and I am so fed up with camping inside my house! Consequently I am suffering from extremely high blood pressure although my kitchen is not totally to blame but it is, I'm sure a contributing factor.

I have also given my resignation at work, as this booth is just too busy for me, even on a quiet night. I dread Xmas there.

I will be seeing a new dermatologist at the end of the month but of course my mouth rash has cleared up. I definately think the weather plays a part in this as when the temps reach 20C or 70F my mouth starts to errupt and when it is humid, then all hell breaks loose. I have heard that you can be allergic to the heat. And since I am without a thyroid I know that I am heat intolerant. Which may be a contributing factor. I have always been uncomfortable during summer, even as a kid, so maybe age and the fact of no thyroid (which controlls your body temperature) has exaserbated my condition. At least it is not caused by an allergy to my dolls (plastic) as I once feared! *phew*

So by Halloween, if all goes well, everything should be solved and completed! Speaking of Halloween, I am gradually building my scene in Dolton. Dolton, oh my god, you don't want to go down there right now. It is a major mess as I am once again rearranging it and in a major way! Lofton is a mess too as I had to move everything for Jack to do some work up there, which he has not got around to yet. Again this better get done soon as with the cooler weather I will soon not be able to spend time up in Lofton.

Meanwhile both Venus (my dining room) and the Heights (this room) have been in transition as I try to fit in even more dolls LOL Of course now that I will no longer be working I won't be able to afford to buy much more. I think I have enough dolls to last the rest of my life, don't you! LOL

Meet Supergirl AKA Martha or maybe...

Went back to MFD today to pick up my latest Venetian, Supergirl. She was on sale so that justified bringing her home with me *grin* Not that I need justification to buy any doll but let's just say I wouldn't have bought her otherwise. But boy is she cute! I was going to name her Martha but now that I see her up close, I think she looks like Meg Ryan. So her name will be Megan, Meg of course for short.

I also picked up Spooky Sooki, an Integrity doll for Halloween. What's nice about her is her hands come off for easy dressing, especially since they are splayed and curved. Integrity is starting seasonal dolls too.

So it looks like I am preparing for Halloween with my costumed dolls. Stay tuned!

I have already pre-ordered the Xmas Jet gal. The blonde version unfortunately is an FAO exclusive. The nice thing about these outfits is they can be worn all year round and are not just totally for the occassion that you are limited in using them. This is the promo pic of Jett. I think she has some blue in her hair too.

I also received some Ken clothing from Hong Kong, through Ebay of course. MiniBarbie is the seller's name. Good prices too. Shipping is good as it comes in a bubble envelope. And guess what, it gets here faster than from the U.S. Strange eh!

It's rather cool today, although just to my liking. While everyone is running around in slacks and jackets and wool sweaters, I am still in my summer attire. People look at me strange but most women just smile and figure "she's menopausal" ha ha ha! Let them think what they want. I am enjoying this refreshing coolness for soon it will be too cold and we all will be complaining. Speaking of which, Sears had snow blowers on display!!!! Yikes!

Hope everyone is okay out there. Wish I was in PA at the convention. *sigh*

Oh and one winner won last night's lottery of $35 million. Guess what, IT WASN'T ME!!!! HAH!
