Here's a few scenes from the Prologue of Genevieve's story. Genevieve is doll #11, she is a 1981 Beauty
First Pic is a reminder pic from Hillary's story of Faye Allman who was a model in Thornbeck's when the store was in Toronto. Evelyn Jones is one of the school chums.
Second pic is the DHer's heading up to Lofton for the Grand Opening of the Lofton Mall, which co-incided with Genevieve's return home to Dolton. Genevieve is in the 3rd pic. The last pic is of the girls modelling their new gowns that they bought at the Dolton Heights Clothing Store. The two gals (still unnamed) came with Genevieve to live in Dolton. Now for the prologue and a very short Chapter 1.
GENEVIEVE RETURNS HOME
PROLOGUE
As you may recall Genevieve went to Tu Mani (in Tennessee) to visit and have her leg repaired. She had been in a coma for over 10 years previous to this trip and so missed many of the changes in Dolton. She left by ambulance after regaining consciousness (back in the spring of this year), and therefore did not see any of the scenery along her route.
After a specialized surgeon (Yvonne) in Tu Mani repaired Genevieve her recuperation was swift. She made many friends there and was invited to a lot of social events. Not to mention dates!
But the time had come for her to return home to Dolton. After much crying and hugging she was on her way. Her two closest companions decided to accompany her back to Dolton and become residents also. So the journey home would not be so long and lonely for her. Still she returned with anticipation and some reluctance. What kind of changes would she find there? Would people remember her? Oh of course her friends from school, Judy Murray, who was now Mrs. Roy Nichols and a mother to boot! Genevieve was highly surprised that the playful Judy had settled down so much. And that Pat Dighton was now the Public School Principal! Public School! There hadn’t even been a Public School in Dolton when Genevieve attended school. She remembers being bused into Toronto as there weren’t many of them back then.
Note: Genevieve is doll #11 in my collection! Judy is #12 and Patricia Dighton is #5

By the time she reached high school, the population had grown and she and her friends had all attended Dolton High. Of course they often went to Toronto to see their old school chums, Hillary Thornbeck, James Eastman (what a hunk), Evelyn Jones and that loose girl Faye Allman. Genevieve smiled at the thought of Faye, then wondered what she was doing now.
Note: all of these characters were in Hillary & Jeremy’s story.
CHAPTER 1
Indeed things had changed. For now there was a new town called Dolton Heights. It was where she first arrived when the postal truck delivered her. Unfamiliar faces greeted her. And residents in all shapes and sizes appeared to welcome her home. Home, this was not her home. How Genevieve missed Tu Mani. She wanted to go back!
But her two companions fit right in. They mingled with the Silkies and even went off shopping at the Dolton Heights clothing store! They came back wearing formal gowns. Genevieve thought they were silly for purchasing such attire. But then she realized she was envious for she had never owned a gown, never even graduated from high school, never...well that was long ago. And although those memories were foggy they sometimes haunted her dreams.
"Come on" they cajoled her. These mischievous pals that she brought home with her. And so she let them take her to the Dolton Heights Clothing Store. Oh she had never seen such a sight. Except Thornbeck’s in downtown Toronto. This was almost as big and had so many outfits to chose from.
Of course she had to pick a gown. A lovely mint coloured one. She wore it for days, being careful of course not to spill food on it. But soon the weather got cooler and she needed to find warmer clothing. Not to mention more practical. She had just returned wearing a new pant suit, a slate gray colour, with a matching sheer blouse, when she saw a crowd of people climbing a ladder.
"Where are you going?" she called out.
"To the Grand Opening of the Lofton Mall" came the reply.
‘A Mall!’ Genevieve thought, ‘here!’ "Hey wait for me!" And up she went after them.

I'm so glad Genevieve's companions are working out well in Dolton :)
Oh yes they have continued to lead the party life here. Genevieve though has gone on to other things as you will see in the story.
