VENUS has reached 100 residents!!!!

It's a milestone that I had hoped to achieve this year. Today I bought the 100th resident for Venus. She is a doll I thought I would never buy. She's Tawny Gene. Oh I didn't like the new look Gene when Jason Wu took over and made her out to be more youthful and modern. He has improved over the past two years I think. While I still don't care for the plain Gene, this gal interested me. She is very articulated and extremely light in weight compared to the previous dolls. She comes in a pretty mint shade box, with earrings, and a pair of panty hose. The stand is an opague gray, but still the doll does not stand properly in them. Can't anyone make decent doll stands?

While I was at MFD I eyed a few more future residents for Venus, but I am waiting until they come on sale (hopefully). I like MFD's new store. It's the smallest yet but I find it quite homey. You can still see all the dolls on display, although some are quite high up on shelves to look at closely.
I did buy some clothing for another Venus resident but you will have to wait for the story that goes along with it. Which I expect to have finished in the next week or so, along with pix. So stay tuned.

Hi Jane, I can see why you were interested in her. She does look better than the previous gene dolls from Jason Wu. I still won't be buying any more genes though myself. John looked at them and said they all look the same. I realized he is right and I should never have bought that many of them. OH well! By the way, I won a Beyond Pink Teresa NIB for $4.99 plus ship today on ebay. I haven't bought a doll on ebay since my Zse Zsu on Nov 5 so I guess I was overdue for a dollie, especially a barbie.

Did you post her on your blog? Will check shortly.
I have one more Gene to come but she was sold out so I am hoping she will come in soon. Deep Rose I think she is called. I also have my eye on a few Tonner gals but will wait for a sale on those.

She sure doesn't look like the Genes I'm used to seeing. Pretty doll. Is this the first time she has an articulated body? I must say that's the one thing that always turned me off to the Fashion Royalty, but they do pose nicely in a lot of the photos I've seen. And the Jazz Babies are articulated, they look like fun!
Congrats on your 100th Jane!!!

When Jason Wu took over the Gene line, he gave the girls articulated bodies and they seem to be slimmer than previous Gene. I didn't like them at first and still am not totally pleased with Gene herself. But Tawny looks different enough to be a "new" doll.
She is also very light in weight compared to the other dolls, which makes her seem fragile although she isn't. I shall have to take a pic of the two side by side.
The Jazz Babes will be out soon. They are part of a story line but I may just post a pic of them before I start the story.
