Today is Meg's sixteenth birthday and this is a picture of her cake. It is a Hello Kitty cake. We couldn't find a pan of Hello Kitty so we made the cake using a nine inch round pan and two heart shaped cupcakes from a pan that make six cupcakes. Luckily two of them came out without tearing. The nose is a peanut M and M , and the whiskers and eyes are black icing from a tube we bought--the bow is a candy type mess that ran off the cake at first and we had to fill it with pink sugar sprinkles to make it behave. Of course the fact the weather was almost eighty degrees and humid as all get out didn't help either. And we didn't forget the mouth---poor Hello Kitty doesn't have a mouth .
Jaime has been out doll looking and found the new Mary Poppins at the WM in Columbia but we already have Mary Poppins from the first time. We will probably buy Bert and the kids when they finally come out--maybe. She stopped at Target the other night and brought home the new Summer doll that is from the Top Model Resort series---still hasn't had time to take her out of the box.
Okay I need some help with a rat---what can I feed him to make him leave the house. He is in the attic and has already come down and eaten a whole case of M and M's and some candy that Jaime had covered with latex to make molds for resin. I found where he had chewed a place about the size of a half saucer at the very top of the wall next to the attic and I patched it and he ate the patch and chewed another whole and another whole all the same size. I have put up Decon for him and I have given him moth balls (the smell will chase off dogs in the yard and mice) but so far I haven't been able to get rid of this thing and I am afraid he will chew through electric wires and start a fire.

Happy Birthday to Meg!
80F wow that is warm! It got into the high 50's low 60's yesterday. All our snow is gone but the winds have come up and the temps are dropping fast.
We had a huge rat this summer (outside) that hung around, I don't know if they hybernate during the winter or not. I don't know what to tell you. Putting poison out might be risky as your kitties might eat it by mistake. Other than that, calling an exterminator is the only solution I know.
I don't like the new MP her face is horrid. But Bert looks good, the likeness is extraordinary. I will most likely buy Jane and Micheal later.
Dolton's population increased today also. I had been watching the Island Princess dolls and wanted the blonde Lea/Kayla, which ever she is. Today WM finally marked her down to $7. so I snapped her up. Also the doll house I had been eyeing was 40% off, so Lofton will get a new dwelling too. Today was another great shop til you drop day.
Summer & Teresa have not shown up here yet, but I did get the Barbie the other day.
Have you seen the Barbie with the orange streak in her hair? She comes with a wig. I want her too. I may have to start a whole new town with these Muse Barbies LOL
Have you tried one of the big springloaded rat traps? Rats are one animal that I won't do a trap and release on. They spread diseases and destroy property.
