TuMani News

First is a picture of my little Bratz kids boys--found them at Target on clearance. We only had one little Bratz kid girl in TuMani---Jaime got Jade for Christmas 2006--so now she has some friends. I checked the height and the boys are just a little taller than the big little Kellys and are about the same height as the new Strawberry Shortcakes-----the in the middle have the Elvis curl thing going on. The second picture is of some of the bigger girls in TuMani---there are several from the Strawberry Shortcake line and a big little Bratz baby (Cloe) and then there is one of the larger Yummi Land girls along with Belle and a little girl doll that Jaime always called Whoopsie because when you squeeze her tummy her little "dog ears" go up and she makes a whoopsie sound.

Jaime had told Meg she would pay her if she would clean her room so today poor Meg is in Jaime's room working . So far she has worked about three hours and found a little piece of floor. I hope I don't lose Meg in all the mess. I went back up on the roof once again with some step flashing and put on the edge of the roof where we think the water is running back under and also carried a bucket of wet patch and sealed all the seams. When I was up there Sunday and mashed on that particular spot the roof peed on me so maybe I have found the right place. Rain is moving in again tonight so I guess I will find out soon enough. I also caught all the kitties and gave them their flea spot medicine. Since I have seen ladybugs, mosquitoes, and picked a tick off me I know the fleas will soon be coming. Last year the fleas were so bad Ed and Inky lost a lot of their hair and I don't want that to happen this year. In a bit I will need to decide what to have for supper---I am sort of leaning toward meatloaf and rice. Has anyone been to an ALDI grocery store. We have several in our area but yesterday was the first time I had ever been in one. They charge you a quarter to use a shopping cart and they have no bags to put your groceries in. It is sort of like a Save A Lot as they have things sort of wearhouse style. I did buy two cans of lima beans, a can of little green peas and a can of asparagus---I could carry that much in my hands. I might go back for the beans as they were a good price but I will take Meg with me next time so we can carry twice as much---I don't think I should have to pay for using a shopping cart :( Well need to check on Meg as I haven't heard her making gagging noises lately.

Almost all our grocery stores charge 25 cents to use the cart. That is so people don't take them home (many do) and leave them on the streets. It hasn't deterred them at all as I always find carts in my neighbourhood. Our Zeller's stores charge $1. to use the carts. Of course you get your money back when you return the carts. I think you are going to see that trend starting everywhere now Yvonne.
I take my own bags when I shop at these discount grocery stores, that way I am saving money, reusing my bags and saving the environment somewhat. Lots of stores are selling reusable bags. I have two canvas bags that I have been using for years.
