These gals are wearing the Dressmaker Fashions. They are just too expensive for my pocketbook!

I love Connie's scenes and pictures. I'm drooling all over my keyboard, LOL! No, melton doesn't have a NY's Ball, although I'm not ruling it out in the future. As much as I like my new house, I am still short of dolly room, at least for the time being. I am hoping to get a portable building that I can set up as a play house for the dollys. Then we should have a much more active social swing in Melton.
What about the cottage at the back of your place? Or did you rent it?
We rented the cottage. We just can't manage without the rental income. Besides, it is seperately metered for electricity and water,so that would be extra monthly bills. On top of that, the previous tenants of 8 years were heavy smokers, and we were unable to get the odor out. Maybe in the future we could use it ourselves, but not right now. It would be cheaper to just get the portable building. The one I want costs about $800.
That's good that you got the cottage rented. Wouldn't a portable building add to to your taxes? You would still have to heat and light it.
No, as it is portable, it isn't taxable. I could just run an electric cord out to it and use a small heater and a lamp. it wouldn't be that much. For heat, I could even build a heat catcher which is a box with a black interior to absorb heat that is open on one end into the room with a glass cover. the heat collected on a moderately sunny day is amazing. I would only need a small amount of heat at night. With the low watt fleurescent bulbs, the costs would be minimal. The one I want has windows.
